| Welcome to the
Mansfield Code Administration
Pennsylvania's State wide Uniform Construction Code , known as Act 45 has become law. The law took effect on April 8, 2004. Under this regulation, all construction projects in Pennsylvania must meet the requirements of the PA UCC. The UCC will provide uniform standards for new construction and renovations around the state. Commercial buildings will comply with the International Building Code (IBC): Residential Construction will comply with the International Residential Code (IRC). The code applies to almost all buildings, excluding manufactured and industrial housing units, (which are covered by other laws), agricultural buildings, and certain utility and miscellaneous buildings.
An amendment to the state-wide building code, Known as Act 92-2004 has been passed by the House and Senate and was signed into law by the Governor on July 15, 2004, and becoming law immediately. This legislation exempts residential alterations and repairs that do not involve structural or means of egress issued from the Uniform Construction Code (Act 45). The Mansfield Code Administration, as administered by the Borough of Mansfield, serves as the enforcing agency for eight municipalities within Tioga County. The Mansfield Code Administration administers the permitting, inspection and enforcement compliance of the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code.
