Building Inspections Required
The following minimum inspections shall be required:
1. Pre-permit inspection
Prior to issuance an inspection shall be conducted to ascertain compliance with the provisions of the Code.
2. Footing inspection.
Concrete cannot be placed before inspection approval. Inspection will verify that forms are placed properly and on undisturbed soil as per drawings, footing are at proper depth, of proper size and to verify type of concrete to be used and placement of reinforcement.
3. Foundation inspection
If concrete in used, Concrete cannot be placed before inspection approval. Inspection will verify that forms are placed properly; reinforcement is in place as per the drawings.
If Block foundation, foundation must be inspected prior to backfill.
4. Plumbing, mechanical and electrical inspections
Framing inspection to be made after the roof, all framing, fire blocking and bracing are in place and all pipes, chimneys and vents are complete and the rough electrical, plumbing and heating wire, pipes and ducts are approved. These inspections can take place simultaneously. If there is plumbing, mechanical or electrical under a slab this inspection must be done prior to the pouring of concrete.
5. Wall board Inspection
An inspection shall be conducted prior to taping of wallboard.
6. Final Inspection
To be made after finish grading and the building is completed and ready for occupancy. Final electrical, plumbing, and mechanical inspections must be conducted prior or in conjunction with the final.
Other inspections
In addition to the called inspections specified above, the Code official may make or require other inspections of any construction work to ascertain compliance with the provisions of the Code.

A. Inspection request may be submitted by telephone or by contacting the Mansfield Code Administration at 19 East Wellsboro Street, Mansfield, Pa 16933
B. Minimum information needed for an inspection is:

G. The building contractor or owner is responsible for notifying the Mansfield Code Administration when inspections are required.
H. Whenever possible, inspection requests will be done within 48 hours. Requests for concrete inspections received before 9:00 AM may be done within 24 hours, in most cases. Concrete inspections (footings) will take precedence.
I. The inspection card and approved plans must be on the job site for the inspector to review. The inspection card must be signed off prior to construction proceeding to the next phase.
J. Final inspections or inspections related to correction notices may be scheduled for a set time by contacting the Mansfield Code Administration and requesting an appointment. Please submit your request at least 48 hours in advance.
